"AI built my website" is a compressed description of something more interesting. In a well-built generator, AI does one part of the job (the writing) while ordinary, predictable code does the rest. Knowing which part is which tells you a lot about what to expect from any AI website builder, including this one.
What AI Is Good At Here
Large language models turn a short description into fluent, relevant prose: a services list phrased for your trade, an about section in your voice, headings that read like a person wrote them. That is a genuine advance over the empty text boxes of older builders, and it is where most of the waiting in a generation run goes.
What Should Not Be Left to AI
Structure should be settled before the writing starts, and it should be checked. Which pages exist, what order the sections go in, where the primary call to action lands and how the navigation is built are decisions worth making deliberately rather than discovering halfway through a paragraph. In Instantsite the model plans that structure for the business first, and the plan then has to pass the product's own limits and validation before a single word is written into it.
The Honesty Problem
A language model asked for a persuasive business page will happily produce a five-star review, an award, or a statistic, none of them real. The fix is structural rather than stylistic: the sections that would carry social proof have no fields for it. Reviews, certifications, team members and before-and-after results are generated as reserved space carrying a note that invites real material, so there is nothing for the model to fabricate.
How This Changes Your Job
The work shifts from producing a first draft to judging one. Read what was written about your business, correct what is wrong, delete what does not apply, and add the specifics only you have: real prices, real credentials, real photographs. That is a much shorter task than a blank page, which is the real saving.
FAQs
Does using AI cost extra on Instantsite?
No. Generation is part of every plan, including Free, and a run that fails can be retried without using extra quota.
Can AI replace human web designers?
Not for judgment. A generator is good at producing a competent first version quickly; deciding what a business should say, and to whom, is still a human job.
Does the AI optimize my website for search engines?
Not as a separate feature. Generation writes the site's meta title and description and produces a sensible page structure, and on Premium you can edit a website's meta title, description, keywords, canonical URL and indexing flags in its settings. Instantsite runs no separate optimization service on your behalf, and publishing does not submit your site to search engines.
Tools and resources
- Description-based generation: One textarea of plain text is the entire input; the intent extracted from it drives the whole run.
- Visual editor: Everything the generator produced can be rewritten, reordered, hidden or removed before you publish.
- Traffic analytics: Visitors, page views, sources, devices and top pages for published websites, measured by Google Analytics, on the Premium plan.
Why the progress screen has three stages
While a site is generating, Instantsite shows exactly three steps (understanding your business, planning pages and writing content, then opening the editor) and each advances when the underlying request finishes rather than on a timer. The elapsed time you see afterwards is measured, not promised, which is why the create screen quotes no number before a run starts.
The interesting question is not whether AI writes your website, but which decisions it is allowed to make. Worth asking of any builder you try.
