Getting started
Instantsite builds a complete business website from a description of your business. It plans the pages, writes a first version of the content, chooses imagery and applies a coherent visual design. You then customize everything in a visual editor and publish it when it is ready.
No. You describe your business in your own words, and every part of the website (content, images, sections, pages, colours and typography) is edited visually. There is no code to write and nothing to host yourself.
Yes. The Free plan needs no card. It covers 1 website, the full editor and publishing to a free instantsite.app address. New accounts start with a 30-day window on Free.
The create screen reports three stages and a real elapsed timer rather than an estimate, because generation runs several model calls and validation passes whose duration varies with the description. Stay on the page; the editor opens as soon as the finished website comes back.
Yes. Every section is responsive by design, so a generated website works on phones, tablets and desktops without a separate mobile version. There is no separate mobile editor; what you edit applies at every screen size.
Website creation
It reads your description for what kind of business this is, where it operates, what it offers and what the website is for. It then plans which pages the website needs and which sections each page holds, and writes the content for every one of them. Each piece is validated against the schema of the section it belongs to before it is saved.
Yes. Write your description in the language you want the website to be in. Instantsite detects the language of what you wrote and generates the headings, body copy, buttons and metadata in it. Write consistently in one language; a description that mixes two gives the detector conflicting evidence.
Yes, all of it. The generated website is a starting point, not a final result. Every heading, paragraph, list item, image, button, section and page can be edited, replaced, reordered or removed in the editor.
Instantsite generates 5 pages, every time. A website can hold up to 7 in total, so there is room to add 2 of your own without deleting anything.
Your plan sets how many websites your account holds: Free 1, Pro 2, Premium 5. Deleting a website frees its slot.
No. Sections that carry trust claims (customer reviews, certifications, before-and-after results, team members) are generated as empty placeholders with no fields that could hold a fabricated quote, rating or credential. You fill them in with real content, or you remove the section.
A failed run does not use up a website slot, so you can try again straight away. Make the description more concrete, describe one business rather than several, and write consistently in one language. If it keeps failing, contact support with the description you used.
Website editor
No. Changes stay in the editor until you press Save, and leaving or reloading the editor with unsaved changes loses them; the editor warns you before that happens. Saving updates your draft; it does not change your published website until you publish again.
Yes. Undo and Redo are in the editor's top bar and step through your editing history, up to 50 entries deep. A continuous action counts as one entry rather than one per keystroke. Undo history belongs to the editing session; it is not a version history of a published website.
Yes. Choose Add a section in the sidebar. The drawer groups 42 section designs by purpose, marks the ones recommended for the kind of page you are on, and marks the ones already on it. A new section arrives with neutral placeholder content for you to replace.
Yes. Hover a section and use Move section up or Move section down. Reordering uses controls rather than dragging, so it works identically with a mouse, a keyboard and a screen reader, and cannot drop a section somewhere unintended.
If it happened in the current editing session, Undo brings it back. Otherwise you can add the section again from Add a section, but it arrives with placeholder content rather than your old text. Hide section is the safer option when you might want something back; a hidden section stays in the editor with its content intact.
Curated colour presets are available on every plan and change the whole website at once. Setting the six colours individually (including the accent) is available on Pro and Premium.
Every plan has 7 fonts to choose from. The full 22-font library and the ready-made pairings are available on Pro and Premium.
Yes. Click an image to replace it; uploading from your device is available on every plan. Icons come from a catalogue of 287, grouped by subject, and take their colour from your palette.
Stock image search is available on Premium. Uploading your own images is available on every plan, and your own photographs will almost always do more for your website than stock photography.
A text logo (your business name in your heading font) is available on every plan, at Small, Medium or Large. Uploading an image logo is available on Pro and Premium.
To the address you set under Contact form delivery in the editor. If you do not set one, submissions go to your account email address. The recipient is resolved on our servers from your saved website, never from the page a visitor loaded, which is why it never appears in your published website’s source.
Pages and navigation
Publishing
Publishing takes the saved version of your website and puts it online at its address. Your draft and your published website stay separate afterwards, so you can keep editing; visitors see the published version until you publish again.
Publishing runs a check first. Errors block it because they would produce a genuinely broken public website: a button with no destination, a link to a deleted page, a contact form with nowhere to deliver, missing required metadata. Warnings, such as an empty heading or a low-contrast button, are shown but do not block publishing.
Almost always one of three things: you saved but did not publish, your browser is showing a cached copy, or you are looking at a different address from the one you published to. Save then publish again, and check the live address in a private browsing window.
Yes. Unpublishing removes the website from its address. The website itself is untouched: the draft, its content, its pages and its images all stay as they are, and publishing again puts it straight back.
Yes. Hosting and delivery are included on every plan, and addresses under instantsite.app are served over HTTPS with certificates we manage. There is nothing to buy, install or renew.
Domains
Yes. Every account can claim a name under instantsite.app and publish to it, on every plan, at no cost. Availability is checked as you type, because names are unique across all of Instantsite.
Yes. Claim a different name from the Domains screen in your dashboard and assign it to your website. Disconnecting a name returns it to your account rather than releasing it to everyone else, so you never lose a name by moving a website off it.
Yes, on Pro and Premium. Connecting takes three DNS records added at your DNS provider: an ownership-verification CNAME, a certificate-authorization CNAME, and an A record that routes the domain to Instantsite. The dashboard shows the exact Host and Value for your domain and verifies each step.
Yes, on Pro and Premium. Search for a name from the Domains screen in your dashboard. A domain bought this way is verified for you automatically; you add no DNS records. It has its own renewal date and an auto-renew switch you control.
Yes. You can connect the root domain, www, or another subdomain you control. The Domains screen shows the exact DNS Host and routing value required for the hostname you enter.
DNS changes have to spread across the internet before we can see them. That is often quick but can take several hours depending on your provider and the record’s time-to-live setting. There is nothing to do in the meantime except press Verify again later.
HTTPS is included and there is nothing to buy. Certificates are requested and renewed for you; on a domain you connect, add the certificate CNAME shown during setup and keep it in your DNS so the certificate can remain managed automatically. A padlock appears once the certificate has been issued.
A verified domain serves nothing until it is assigned to a website and that website is published. Check both on the Domains screen. If the browser warns about the connection rather than showing nothing, the HTTPS certificate is still being issued; the dashboard step shows where it is.
Plans and billing
No. A domain bought through Instantsite is a separate charge with its own renewal date. Your plan covers the ability to use a custom domain, not the cost of the domain name itself.
The generator, the editor and publishing are the same on every plan. What changes is the website allowance (Free 1, Pro 2, Premium 5), whether you can use your own domain, and how far the brand, media, search and analytics controls go.
A new account starts on Free with a 30-day window and no card on file. During it you have the whole Free plan. When it ends, managing your websites and domains from the dashboard is locked until you choose a plan. Nothing is deleted, and everything comes back when you upgrade. Because there is no card on file, nothing is ever charged automatically.
Yes, from Billing in your dashboard. Yearly takes one payment for twelve months up front and costs less: Pro is $152.91 a year instead of $203.88, and Premium is $335.90 instead of $479.88. Switching starts a new billing period.
Yes. An upgrade takes effect immediately; you are charged the difference today and the unused time on your current plan is credited automatically by Stripe. Pro is $16.99 a month and Premium is $39.99 a month.
Nothing changes today: you keep the plan you paid for until the end of the current billing period. After that, features the smaller plan does not include stop working, and websites beyond its allowance become read-only rather than being deleted. Deleting one, or moving back up, makes the rest editable again.
Yes, from Billing in your dashboard. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, then the account returns to Free. There is no cancellation fee and no notice period.
Prices are shown in US dollars and exclude tax. Stripe calculates any VAT or sales tax that applies where you are during checkout and shows the total before you confirm. You can add a business tax ID on the same screen.
Analytics and SEO
Traffic analytics (visitors, page views, sources, devices and top pages) is available on Premium. The figures are measured by Google Analytics, and measurement is set up when a website on that plan is published, so there is nothing to install.
Every website gets search metadata written during generation, on every plan. Editing it yourself (the meta title, description, keywords, canonical URL and the indexing switches) is available on Premium.
Instantsite writes search metadata for every page and publishes a technically sound website, which is the part a website builder can control. Where a page ranks depends on your content, your business and your competition; no builder can promise a position.
Account and settings
Both are in the security tab of Settings in your dashboard. If you cannot sign in at all, use the password reset page; if that does not help, account assistance covers access problems.
Yes, with a single switch in Settings. It does not affect contact-form submissions from your published websites; those are delivered to the address configured on the website, whatever this setting says.
Account deletion is at the bottom of Settings and asks you to type a confirmation first. Deleting the account removes your websites with it, including published ones, and cannot be undone. If you only want to stop paying, cancel your subscription instead; your websites are kept.
Troubleshooting
Check the delivery address in the editor under Contact form delivery, then the spam folder of that address. Send a test from the published website rather than the editor, and republish if you changed the delivery address after publishing. Submissions are rate limited per visitor, so leave a few minutes between repeated tests.
Write to the support team from the contact form in the Support Center. Describe what you are seeing, the address of the website concerned, and where to reach you. We read every message and reply by email.
