Understanding what the generator decides (and what it does not) makes it much easier to write a description that produces the website you want.
Three decisions, in order
It reads your description for intent
What kind of business this is, where it operates, what it offers, what the website is for, and which language to write in. Everything downstream follows from this reading, which is why a vague description produces a vague website.
It plans the website
Which pages the website needs and in what order, and which sections each page contains. Several structures are proposed for the business and the strongest is chosen, within the product's real limits: exactly 5 generated pages, drawn from a library of 42 section designs.
It writes the content
Headings, body copy, service descriptions, calls to action, image choices, colours and typography, and the search metadata for each page. Every piece is checked against the schema for the section it belongs to before it is saved.
It knows some industries specifically
Instantsite carries background knowledge about several trades (roofing, HVAC, plumbing, cleaning and med spa among them): what visitors to that kind of business usually want, which subjects are worth covering, and which claims must never be made without evidence. That knowledge advises the plan; it does not fix it. It cannot set the page order, the number of pages or the design of a section, so two businesses in the same trade do not receive the same website.
What it will not invent
Sections that carry trust claims (customer reviews, certifications, before-and-after results, team members) are generated as empty placeholders. There are no fields in them that could hold a fabricated quote, rating or credential. You fill those in with real content, or you remove the section.
What you control afterwards
Everything the generator produced is editable:
- Every heading, paragraph and list item (see editing text and buttons).
- Which sections a page has, their order and their design (see sections and layout).
- Which pages exist and what the header menu shows (see pages and navigation).
- Images, logo and icons (see images, logos and icons).
- Colours and fonts (see colours, fonts and branding).
Can I regenerate?
Generating again means creating another website from a new description, which uses one of your plan's website slots. There is no button that re-runs the generator over an existing website and replaces its content; that would discard the edits you have made.
If the generated website is far from what you wanted, the usual answer is a sharper description on a new attempt rather than editing a website built on the wrong reading of your business.
