Editing text
Click any heading, paragraph or list item on the page and type. The text you edit is stored as content, not as formatting, which is why it stays laid out correctly on every screen size without you doing anything.
Fields that are not visible on the page (an image's alternative text, for example) live in the section panel. Open it with Section settings on the section's controls.
Lists that repeat
Sections that hold a list (services, features, questions and answers, team members) have controls in their panel for the items themselves:
- Move up and Move down to reorder an item.
- Duplicate to copy an item and edit the copy.
- Delete to remove one.
Each list has a minimum and a maximum set by its section design, so a three-column layout cannot end up with one item in it or eleven.
Editing buttons
Click a button to open its controls. A button has four things you can set:
- Its label
- What the button says. Keep it a verb: "Get a quote" beats "Submit".
- Its destination type
- Where it goes: a page on your website, a section on a page, an external address, a phone number or an email address.
- Open in a new tab
- Whether the destination opens in a new browser tab.
- Button style
- How prominent it looks against the section it sits in.
There is also Show this button; turn it off to remove a button from a section without deleting the section.
The header button
The button in your header is set separately, under Header CTA in the sidebar with nothing selected. It appears on every page, so it should point at the single thing you most want visitors to do.
Phone and email buttons
Choosing a phone number as a destination makes the button dial on a phone and do nothing surprising on a desktop. An email destination opens the visitor's mail application with your address filled in.
Where the contact form goes
The contact form has its own settings in the sidebar, under Contact form delivery. There you can turn the form on or off with Enable contact form and set the address that receives submissions.
If you do not set one, submissions fall back to your account email address. See troubleshooting publishing and domains if a form is not delivering.
Social links
Under Social links in the sidebar you can add profiles for 12 networks. Add the handle or the full profile address; anything you leave blank is left off the website entirely rather than linking nowhere.
