Before you start
- A generated website open in the editor.
- An idea of what normally stops people getting in touch with you; you will answer it on the page.
Generated pages are a sensible default, not the only possible order. This tutorial reshapes one page around what your visitors need to know before they act.
Decide the order before you touch anything
Write the order on paper first. A page that converts usually goes: what you do → proof you can do it → the detail a serious visitor wants → whatever normally stops people → how to get in touch.
Move sections into that order
Hover a section and use Move section up and Move section down. One position per press, so you can see the effect of each move.
Add what the page is missing
Choose Add a section in the sidebar. The drawer groups sections by purpose, marks the ones recommended for the kind of page you are on, and marks the ones already on it.
- A new section arrives with neutral placeholder content for you to replace.
- Sections carrying trust claims arrive completely empty. That is deliberate.
Try a different design for a section that is not working
Open Section settings and change Layout. A services list can become a grid; a hero can move its image to the other side.
- If the new design holds fewer fields, the editor names exactly what would be dropped and waits for you to confirm.
Vary the backgrounds so the page has rhythm
Under Style each section can take the page background, a tinted background or your primary colour. Alternating gives a long page structure without any dividers.
- Do not alternate every section. Two or three changes down a page is plenty.
Remove or hide what the page does not need
Remove a section from its panel. If you might want it back, Hide section keeps it in the editor with its content intact.
- A few sections cannot be removed because the page would not work without them. The editor says which and why.
Save and reread the page as a stranger
Press Save, then read the page from the top without skipping. If you cannot tell what the business does within one screen, the order is still wrong.
Final checklist
- The first screen says what you do and for whom.
- Every section on the page earns its place.
- No section still holds placeholder text.
- The page ends with an obvious way to get in touch.
- You have pressed Save.
